Sabbatical Officers
The Sabbaticals are the full-time students officers who govern and run the Students' Association. Taking a full year out from their studies, or staying an extra year if graduated, they lead the staff on the day-to-day operation of every aspect of Sthe Union provide the political leadership and are also legal Trustees.

The President’s job is to oversee everything that the Association does. Their main functions are representing student views on University Committees and being the official voice of the Association. They play a key role in the governing and direction of the Association and also contribute to the work of the other executive officers.

Vice President - Services & Treasurer

The VP S&T is responsible all of the non-support based services that the Association provides and much of the day-to-day management of the Union. Co-ordinating all of the Unions bars, catering and events, including Freshers Week, they also oversee all of Stirling’s clubs and societies. Additionally they are responsible for SUSA’s communications, running elections, the Union’s discipline procedures and marketing income. Finally also they set the budget for all areas of the Association.

Vice President - Welfare & Education

The VP W&E is responsible for all of the core support and representation services that the Union provides. They control all of the Union’s welfare activities, including ASC and Nightline, and also is the main point of contact for student enquires. They also campaign, co-ordinate and speak for students on matters to do with their degree, sitting on a number of bodies shaping education. They also assist the liberation campaigns in their work.

Sports Union

This role involves doing basically everything for the Sports Union. The SU President is responsible for all sports clubs, competitions and is the head of the Sports Union Executive.

The Ents Officer is the person who helps to organise all the music and events that the Union offers. So if you think you have a good idea for a night in the Union then let them know – though if you suggest it, we’ll expect you turn up for it!

Campaigns Officer

The Union runs campaigns on a variety of issues and it is the Campaigns Convenor who organises them and makes sure that they run smoothly. Look out for up-coming campaigns on the website and get involved in the Atrium. If you think there is an issue we should be addressing let us know!

Student Activities Officer

Responsible for overseeing Union affiliated clubs and societies; the Student Activities Officer can also help you to start a new club. They also organise events for all clubs and societies to attend. The Student Activities Officer also co-ordinates Volunteering within the Association.

Publicity Officer

The name here might give it away but the Publicity Officer looks after all of our publicity. This includes producing ideas to run alongside campaigns and to advertise Union events such as elections and our Senate.

Equal Opportunities Officer

The Equal Opps Officer makes sure that the Union not only sticks to but is pro-active in its equal opportunities policy. They also liaise with the liberation officers and sit on various committees throughout the University.

Officers with Specific Responsibilities
OWSRs, as they are known, are student officers who have specialised and focused jobs, normally ranging from liberation and equality to media and the environment. As well as being Union Officers, most also run societies which you can join up to. They are elected by the student body at the main cross campus elections and all sit on Union Council.

The Women’s Officer campaigns for greater representation, protection and freedom for women. Her role redresses the gender balance in society by specifically representing women on the Union Council. Her job is to assist the women’s group – an autonomous Union group which campaigns for women's rights and provides a forum for discussion of what the Women's Officer can do for the University's women through Union.

Disabled Students Officer

The Disabled Students’ Officer is one of the four liberation officers. They are responsible for the Disabled students campaign and co-ordinating the Disabled students group. They are there to represent Disabled Students both within the Union and the University. They run campaigns fighting for greater equality, representation and accessibility within society.

The LGBT Officer represents the views of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender students at Stirling. They also provide support & advice on a number of related issues and are available for one-to-one surgeries. The LGBT Officer also co-ordinates the LGBT social group.

The Black Students' Officer is responsible for convening the Black Students' Campaign. A relatively new role at Stirling, it is nonetheless crucial to the work done by the Association.

Mature Students Officer

Mature students make up about 10% of the Union’s membership and have a very successful society, which is represented on council each year by the Mature Students’ Officer. So if you have any issues you would like to bring to their attention you can contact them through the the Union Office.

Air3 Station Manager

In charge of Air3 Radio, Stirling's very own campus radio station. The Station Manager is elected annually by the entire student body, and has overall responsibility for the output, finances and organisation of the station and all its events.

The Brig Editor is responsible for the University newspaper, Brig. Elected annually by the entire student body, the Editor has overall control over the finances, management content of the paper every month.

AirTv Station Manager

The AirTV Station Manager runs the campus tv station, AirTV. They are responsible for all of the station's equipment, creative output, finances and management of the production, writing and editing teams.
